Does it look right? Does it work?

For the Spring 2026 iteration of Armory Art Together, Youth Corps explored the creative process of Celeste Boursier-Mougenot, the creator of upcoming Drill Hall installation clinamen. For the first time in the program’s history, Youth Corps were guided over three weeks in a process that worked towards a single piece, with each week’s prompt guiding Youth Corps’ progress. As we created pieces that answer a childlike question that plagues our minds, we constantly asked ourselves two questions about the work. Does it look right? Does it work? These two questions are inspired by Celeste Boursier-Mougenot’s dedication to creating work based solely off aesthetic and technical principles. Additionally, participants received a twenty-five dollar gift card as an art making stipend to spend on materials that they needed to conduct their artmaking experiments.
